In the middle of the Mediterranean Sea..
Cyprus has run out of water, which is a pretty unsettling thought. Eight years ago I stayed in the village of Pyla & water was delievered two/three times a week. There were two chicken coups- brown ones for eating, which ones for eggs. There was a long dirt road that led to fig trees & the village church. There was my 94-year old great uncle, Turkish boys on mopeds & more second & third cousins than I knew possible....

Sidewalk Shopping
As I was walking to Ditmars to get my hair cut today, I passed a semi old fashioned, but potentially really amazing mirror on the sidewalk awaiting a fate it seemed too promising to endure. And so I dragged my roommate out the door to help me get it home, cleaned, sanded, painted & now have a new addition to my apartment. It won't be complete without some big, black shiny things on the corners, but a picture is soon to come....
I believe that was the first time I turned someone's sidewalk trash to treasure, & it was thrilling.
I also made edamame soup two nights ago. It tasted better than it looked, but I suppose cooking is an art??

Grapefruit Reading
Where trees are taller than buildings..
I've been slacking. Not too horribly on creating art, but certainly on posting.
I spent some time in Connecticut, where I hiked, rode a motorcycle, swam, discovered random sculpture filled backyards, went to the Peabody Museum, explored Meridan & did some on location drawings at a private airport. This was quite possibly the biggest dandelion I have ever seen...
I think another visit is in order for blueberry picking & Bubble tea.
I have three pieces in the works..
Happy hot humid summer, all.
